Slic3r Prusa 1.34.0 version

Slic3R is developed steady by Alessandro Ranellucci and available on Github, see here. Earlier versions were great and had some features other slicers hadn’t. Unfortunately it didn’t work great with my specific models as architectural models and thin walled models. Slic3r is forked on Github to an “prusa”version.  See here for the code to compile. . That version has some unseen features, as a dynamic layer height**, but works better to generate architectural models too. In general: it’s a great flawless slicer, that addresses all known extreme to print objects, as with thin walls, thin overhangs, support detection, crowning or gap filling etcetera.

Onze vrienden van  filaments.directory hebben een peiling gehouden onder gebruikers met confronterende inzichten: 99% van de 3D printer gebruikers is man en tussen de 20 en 40 jaar, het merendeel komt uit de USA, Engeland of Nederland.  De meesten printen voor zichzelf maar 1/3 ook voor de verkoop. Wij verkopen CraftBots e.d. vooral in Nederland, België en Duitsland, maar hebben andere ervaringen: nog steeds weinig dames als klant, maar toch meer: 15%. Het is eigenlijk nooit nodig om de ‘cold end’ oftewel het deel dat het filament aandrijft van de extruder uit elkaar te nemen. Maar het gebeurd soms toch. Hieronder een simpele foto reeks van de opbouw van de extruder en het klemmechanisme. Bevestig het inbusboutje van het aandrijfwiel op de platte zijde van de as van de extruder motor.

CraftBot als beste Plug-and-Play printer getest!

3D Hubs is een website die 3D printer bezitters in contact laat komen met mensen die een 3D print willen laten maken. Ieder jaar laten ze de 3D printer eigenaren een formulier invullen betreffende hun ervaringen met hun 3D printer. Dit zijn dus ervaren gebruikers van 3Dprinters. In die zin achten we de resultaten dan ook to the point. Waar vorig jaar de CraftBot als beste “budget” printer werd gezien, is de CraftBot nu als beste getest in het segment “Plug-and-Play” 3Dprinters. Gezien het veld waarin geopereerd wordt is dat een behoorlijke prestatie wat ons betreft!
